Alex Monaco founded his firm with a view to leveraging all that technology had to offer. The objective? To empower as many employees as possible – and not just fee-paying clients. In the current climate of negative tech stories it is easy to forget about the many benefits of tech and the myriad of ways it can, and is, used for social good.

    Alex explains:

“I first went into law because I wanted to change the system from the inside out, and now, with the help of my team, I want to do the same with how legal services represent themselves online.

Being made redundant or experiencing discrimination at work can be an incredibly stressful time and can cause the victim to feel embarrassed about their situation.

Our settlement agreement calculator plays a critical part in the user’s experience of the Monaco Solicitors’ website. It enables the individual to fully understand their position and can empower them to fight for what is rightfully theirs, either on their own or with the assistance of legal representation.

While the calculator can only give you an estimated settlement agreement figure, it can give you a very clear steer as to what action you should take at that time and if the settlement you have been offered appears fair.”

Of course, the firm needs some paying customers but the ethos of the company very much focuses on the idea that the law should serve the many, not the few, and particularly not just the few that can afford it.

Monaco Solicitors is unique in its approach to focussing on employees only, there are no hidden sister or parent law firms dealing with other types of law; what you see is what you get.

As such, clients never need to worry about their interests being compromised. They can just take what they need, ask for help if they want, and look forward to resolving their situation with a sense of pride.

Law Society president Christina Blacklaws said: “There are more than 9,000 firms and 140,000 solicitors in England and Wales, so to be shortlisted for an Excellence Award is to be recognised as being among the best of the best.

“All the firms and solicitors who are shortlisted should be congratulated for the work they do day-in-day-out to support their clients, many of whom are navigating complex and challenging legal problems.

“At a time of immense pressure on the justice system, the incredible work being done by solicitors across the country should be applauded.”
