Writer Annie Dillard famously said, “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” For many of us, a large portion of our days is spent at work; in fact, the average person will spend 90,000 hours at work over a lifetime. It’s safe to say your job can make a huge impact on your quality of life. I believe that everyone deserves to work in a safe and supportive environment that helps their quality of life, unfortunately, this is not the case for many employees. Employees deserve to know their rights and it is unfortunate that this is taken advantage of by many employers. As a trainee solicitor, I have worked with many different clients on a wide range of employment law claims. I have helped by giving them advice on different areas of employment law, answering any legal questions my clients may have, negotiating financial settlements and assisting with tribunal proceedings.
