About Raphael Prais
I have specialised in employment law for over ten years. My experience assisting both employees and employers has given me a great insight into both sides of the story – though of course, it’s more fulfilling to help individuals achieve their desired result. I love being there for the employee, achieving the best result for them but also listening and helping them navigate through a difficult time in their life.
I am fortunate to have had a varied career covering multiple aspects of employment law before working at Monaco. Most recently, I worked at Peninsula representing small businesses for the latter stages of employment tribunal litigation, in particular drafting witness statements, advocacy at hearings and negotiating settlements. Nothing beats questioning by a judge to hone one’s employment law knowledge and skills.
Prior to that, I worked as a professional support lawyer and legal writer, creating varied legal writing, as well as templates and automated documents.
At Monaco, I am now developing a brand new automated letter building service for employees as well as working directly for employees in need, in particular negotiating settlements.
My cases have covered the full range of employment law issues, such as unfair dismissal, whistleblowing, discrimination and TUPE transfers. I am steadfast in fighting my client’s side, but I also enjoy explaining the law and guiding my clients through the process so that they feel empowered, comfortable with the result and happy to move on to the next stage of their life.
